LIMA, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- At least three people died and 30 others were injured after a passenger bus overturned Monday morning in southern Peru's Cusco region, local media reported.
According to state news agency Andina, the accident occurred in Quispicanchi province's district of Camanti, along the Interoceanic Highway between Cusco and Puerto Maldonado.
The bus operated by the company Crespo Tours skidded off the road and overturned on a slope, according to Cusco police.
National Police officers and health personnel arrived at the scene to assist the victims, while specialized teams investigated the cause of the accident.
The bodies of two men and one woman were recovered and are in the process of being identified, according to private news network Radio Programas del Peru. ■
